In March of 2015, Alachua County Library District began the installation of a new energy efficient cooling system for the Headquarters branch. This included the installation of five round one-ton Thermal Energy Storage (TES) ice tanks with a diameter of eight feet. The TES ice tanks will enable chilled ice to be stored and used throughout the day during off-peak hours.  For more information, please view our press release.
