Yes, you can absolutely donate your music.
We no longer have an adult music cassette collection, so please limit the donated materials to CDs.
Our entire collection currently "floats," meaning the materials are not owned by any one location, but move freely throughout the District. This, combined with space constraints, means that 2-3 donated copies of a handful of your titles would be a great starting point.
Donations can be dropped off at any of our locations. Please label them with a note asking them to be sent to the Music Selector in the Technical Services department; that should ensure they get to the right place.
Please note, as per our Collection Development Policy donations/gifts are accepted with the understanding that they become the property of ACLD and will be evaluated against the same selection criteria as purchased materials. Once a gift is accepted by the library, it cannot be returned to the donor even if it is not added to the library collection. Items not added to the library collections are usually donated to the Friends of the Library for inclusion in their used book sales. Proceeds from the sales are used for library support.
