Yes, Alachua County residents who are ages 18 or older and do not have a Standard Library Card in our system can apply for a Digital Library Card online. These library cards can be used to access digital books and audiobooks, databases, and other online resources. If county residence is successfully verified, applicants will receive a welcome email with new account information and instructions.

Please note: Digital Library Cards can not be renewed. Once it expires, you must register for a Standard Library Card.

Florida residents who do not live in Alachua County and all minors must apply for a Standard Library Card in-person at one of our library locations. Minors (ages 4-17) must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian as the Responsible Party on their account.
