Yes, Alachua County residents who are age 18 or older and do not have a Standard Card in our system can apply for a Digital Card online. These library cards can be used to access digital books and audiobooks, databases, and other online resources. If county residence is successfully verified, applicants will receive a welcome email with new account information and instructions.

Florida residents who do not live in Alachua County, and all minors, must apply for a Standard Card in-person at one of our library locations. Minors (ages 4-17) must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian as the Responsible Party on their account.

  1. I have used my card # exclusively to access Heritage Quest,, and occasionally to look at library resources. Can it be renewed on line??

  2. Library card renewals cannot be done online or over the phone, and instead must be done in person at any library location. Please be sure to bring valid photo ID. Cards expire 2 years after registration or renewal.
