Yes, Alachua County residents who are age 18 or older and do not have a Standard Card in our system can apply for a Digital Card online. These library cards can be used to access digital books and audiobooks, databases, and other online resources. If county residence is successfully verified, applicants will receive a welcome email with new account information and instructions.

Florida residents who do not live in Alachua County, and all minors, must apply for a Standard Card in-person at one of our library locations. Minors (ages 4-17) must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian as the Responsible Party on their account. The Responsible Party must bring ONE of the following linking the child with the Parent: health insurance card, birth certificate or passport, school immunization card, social security card, or the minor child's current state-issued ID.
