A library account will be blocked if there are five (5) or more overdue items or $50 or more in bills on the account. A block will suspend your borrowing privileges and your ability to place holds. You will also not have access to digital collections or library databases. Accounts that owe more than $250 in bills will be blocked from accessing library computer workstations.

To clear a block:

  • Return any overdue materials, in good condition. Once the items are checked in by a library staff member, any bill associated with the overdue item will be removed.
  • Lost or damaged items are billed to the account for payment in-person at any library location, online, or by mail.
  • If your account is expired, you will need to renew your library card. Your account must be at a $0 balance to be renewed.

For questions or more information on blocks or billing, contact the Circulation Department by phone at 352-334-3950.
