Downloadable titles on Overdrive/Libby are similar to physical materials in that there are a number of "copies" of each title available for checkout. When all of the copies of a particular title are checked out, you will be prompted to place a hold on the item. One method for determining the number of copies we have of each title is a holds ratio. Whenever the ratio of holds to copies exceeds a set number, an additional copy will be purchased. Placing holds on items that are not available at the time you look for them in Overdrive/Libby lets Library Staff know that we need more copies.

If you do not see a title available in Overdrive/Libby that you wish to have added to our collection, you may fill out a Suggest Materials form on our website. You will be notified by Library Staff on whether or not the title you suggested could be added to the collection. Unfortunately, we cannot automatically place downloadable items on hold for you. Most new titles will be available within 24 hours of the notification that they are being added. You will need to manually checkout or place a hold on the title once it becomes available in Overdrive/Libby.
